Alexander Robinson – Chief Cheecheepinqua of the Potawatomi (Squint Eye)

 

Born of a Scottish father and an Ottawa mother

 

Negotiated the Treaty of Chicago on behalf of the American Treaty Commission (1833).

 

Witnessed the Chicago Fire (1871) and rejoiced that he was able to once again see the prairie in its original state before he died.

 

Died on his reservation near Norridge, Illinois.
