Captain Billy Caldwell – Chief Sauganash of the Potawatomi (The Englishman)

 

Born of a British father and an Mohawk mother.

 

Negotiated the Treaty of Chicago on behalf of the American Treaty Commission (1833).

 

Joined the Potawatomi band that moved from the Chicago area west to the Platt Country in Missouri and Iowa (1835).
